valentine’s 2007 – undecorate dance party!
We somehow managed to leave our christmas decorations up so long that the tree was very dead. at first, it was on purpose as We decided, that the tree was pretty & we could leave it up a little longer. Then, we ran out of time to even take it down… and it became an official fire hazard as well as a duty we had both been dreading.
I suggested we have a “Valentine’s Day Un-Decorate Dance Party” – combining fun with something that needed to be done. So, after a delicious dinner of Spanish-style Snapper & Edamame, a bottle of wine & lime-aide mimosas, we went to town on those xmas decorations – dancing to our hearts content. (geek side note: meanwhile, we’re trying to setup AirPort Express to be an AirTunes… which, we should have read the directions because it was really easy after we wasted 2 hours to find the control panel that turned the AirTunes function on! But once it works, its awesome, iTunes plays to 2 separate sets of speakers wirelessly!!!)
So, for the LIFE OF ME (and Ian), we couldn’t figure out what in the world we did last valentine’s day… Ian remembers having to work out of town, but I couldn’t remember what we did to celebrate. I knew we did something…
this is yet another time i have to say THANK YOU BLOG
The whole time we’re boogying, I have a memory of dancing to the Talking Heads song “Girlfriend is Better” with Ian and having a super epiphany at some New College party. Which, of course, was last year’s V-Day PCP & happened to be an awesome time for me. (thanks, blog)
The blog also clued me in to a funk I was in around the same time for 2 years ago. I must say that I was in the same exact funk but amplified this year. The transition + post-holiday blues + apparently normal funk = a lot of suck. However, my trip to Florida seems to have lifted my spirits….
All of these revelations are more reasons why I am making more effort to blog these days. I feel off the bandwagon after I moved from Sarasota, time to get back on.
Oh, and, i have the CUTEST boyfriend ever: My Valentine’s Day Present from Ian
